Modern and Lasting Solution
Dental Implants
A dental implant mimics the root of a missing tooth, serving as support for a porcelain crown or bridge. Dental implants are an ideal option for people in good general health who have lost natural teeth due to periodontal disease, unsuccessful endodontic treatment, trauma, or hypodontia. Not only are implants a true innovation, but they also preserve the neighboring teeth, avoiding the need to grind them down.
What is the Implant Procedure?
This procedure is a team effort between the patient, the dentist, and the dental technician. Depending on your oral condition, Dr. Irina Trajkovska-Zareska creates a treatment plan and proceeds according to the needs:
Replacing a single tooth – only one implant is placed.
Replacing several teeth – two or more implants are placed to support a bridge.
Replacing all teeth – four, five, or six implants are placed in one jaw if a fixed bridge is planned, or two to three implants if a removable denture is planned.
Sinus augmentation – when there is insufficient bone height in the upper jaw, a flap is raised, a window is created in the bone, the sinus membrane is lifted, and the empty space above the implant site is filled with artificial bone.
Alveolar ridge modification – when the ridge is too low or narrow, artificial bone is added. This procedure greatly improves aesthetics, making the teeth appear to emerge naturally from the jaw.
What Can I Expect After Treatment?
One day post-surgery, you may experience pain and swelling, which can be managed with antibiotics and painkillers. These symptoms usually disappear within a week. For long-term maintenance and hygiene, follow-up visits are scheduled with Dr. Irina Trajkovska-Zareska every 6–12 months to monitor your implant, natural teeth, gums, and bone health.
